Can’t is a bad word, right?  For years, we’ve been told that by saying we can’t do something, then we never will.  We’ve all hear that “can’t never could” after all.  Self help gurus have been saying over and over that we have to believe we can achieve something before we ever can.  By introducing the word “can’t”, we give power to the demons of our poor self esteem and prevent us from doing what we want.

Of course, sometimes that’s like telling a blind man he could see if he just wanted it badly enough. (more…)

Technology is a wonderful thing.  Thanks to smart phones, we can now carry around a personal device that trumps all others when it comes to helping deal with ADHD.  There are tons of posts out there on the internet about which apps work best, but you know what?  I haven’t seen a lot of help from those very same apps. ADHD is a condition that requires treatment.  That’s something I’ve been neglecting for quite some time, and it’s part of the reason I’ve been as down in the dumps as I’ve been.  My ADHD hasn’t been treated in so long that it’s not even funny.  However, there are hiccups with treatment methods that anyone needs to understand so maybe they can keep their crap straight. There are a lot of things that someone can do to deal with ADHD.  Schedules, tools, and whatnot.   Websites and books are full of these really helpful suggestions that are all designed around helping someone with ADHD function in our modern world.  They’re wonderful, wonderful things for folks to use.
